Boundless
Soundspace, a new transdisciplinary institute, will bring together music and science faculty from across the University to develop innovation in sound, music, and audience engagement.
“In uncertain times, we turn to music. It soothes. It heals. It brings us together. It inspires audiences and performers alike.
In a world that needs connection, empathy, and imagination, Eastman offers more than music—we offer what’s needed right now.”

Two-time GRAMMY-winning jazz vocalist Sara Gazarek joined Eastman in 2023 as an associate professor to develop its first jazz voice degree. Praised for her “impeccable” voice and artistic range, she brings the real-world experience, creativity, and excellence that define the caliber of faculty shaping the next generation of musicians at Eastman.
Help us attract and retain brilliant faculty
For Ashni Budge ’24, ’24E, scholarships opened doors to rich academic and musical experiences—from leading ensembles to bringing music into local schools. A violin performance and psychology double major, she’s now pursuing a master’s in music on a full fellowship.
Empower a new generation of music leaders
Eastman’s Student Living Center is the on-campus residence for undergraduates and the central hub of residential life and activity. Modernizing and updating the space is a priority and helps ensure that our living and learning environments maintain Eastman’s competitive edge in music training.
